To ensure your online business remains compliant with the latest European consumer protection regulations (EU 2023/2673), we are implementing the mandatory "Cancellation Button" across our shop ecosystem. From 19 June 2026, EU law requires B2C merchants to provide a highly visible and easily accessible way for customers to withdraw from contracts without requiring a login.
Scope of the project
We are developing a standardised solution for both our modern Shop and plentyShop LTS. This update ensures that your customers can exercise their right of withdrawal with just a few clicks, directly meeting the legal requirements for visibility and accessibility.
- Permanent Accessibility: The button will be integrated into a constant UI element (such as the footer) to ensure it is visible at all times.
- No Login Required: Customers will be able to initiate a cancellation without having to access their personal account first.
- Automated Confirmation: We are implementing a workflow that triggers an immediate confirmation of receipt for the consumer once the button is clicked.
- Direct Form Integration: The button will link directly to a streamlined online withdrawal form.
Outlook and Dependencies
We will announce the specific versions for both shop systems as soon as they are released. To benefit from these changes, merchants will be required to update their shop to the designated version. Please note that agencies or merchants using heavily customised shop integrations will need to manually port the logic from our base implementations to their custom themes.
