In e-commerce, selling products is not enough; smooth and efficient reordering is crucial to maintaining a steady flow of goods and ensuring you're always ready to fulfil orders. The ability to quickly and easily restock inventory is a key factor in driving business success. This is where the improved reordering UI in plentymarkets comes into play. Built on the foundation of the new Order UI, it helps merchants streamline their reordering processes, making them clearer, more efficient, and easier to manage. This way, you can focus on what matters most while keeping your inventory in check and under control.
We listened to your feedback and implemented some exciting new features:
-
We've introduced a new Create process for reorders that mirrors the familiar workflow of the order creation process. This means, as a merchant, you won’t need to learn a new system for reorders – everything will have the same look and feel as what you're used to in the order module.
-
We've also made the reorder process client-specific. Now, when you create a reorder, you can select a client, ensuring that the correct email or document template is automatically applied. This adds more flexibility and ensures accuracy in communication and documentation.
-
To enhance your workflow, we implemented the editing mode, allowing you and your team to customise your views for maximum efficiency. Whether you need a streamlined overview or more detailed insights, you can set it up in a way that works best for your needs.
-
Our new lock logic gives you more control. If you need to make changes to a reorder after ordering from your supplier, you can now unlock the reorder (with the appropriate user rights), make adjustments, and lock it again. Even the warehouse can be updated until the first transaction is processed, offering much more flexibility.
-
You can now create a transfer order directly from within the reorder. If your items arrive at one warehouse but need to be transferred to another, this feature allows you to initiate the transfer directly from the reorder and streamline the process.
-
In addition, we have added the option to split a reorder into multiple reorders, provided you have the necessary user permissions. This is particularly helpful if your supplier has different delivery times. By splitting the reorder, you can manage and track each delivery more effectively.
-
For even greater flexibility, you can now add items to a reorder that are not yet included in your product portfolio. Simply add a blank item with minimal details and assign the correct item later, once you have created it in the items section.
-
We have also included two views – a compact view with visual options such as colour coding, and a list view for data-oriented users.
-
To further simplify the process, you can now assign a single storage location for all items in a transaction if you do not wish to select one individually for each item. You can also set a delivery note number for all items at once, if this has not yet been entered. Similarly, the delivery note number can be quickly looked up from the overview.
-
We have added further fields that you can integrate into the tables, such as incoming items (warehouse), incoming items (global) and many more, so that you can access important information more easily.
-
Reordering will be one of the first UIs to feature the new inline table editing function, which means you can edit fields directly within the table without having to switch to the edit view every time. (This feature is still under development and will undergo further changes in the near future.)
