Flow Hub: Automation with a human touch

Introducing Flow Hub: Automation with a Human Touch

We are excited to launch Flow Hub, the final component of our closed-loop automation system. This update transforms how you handle operational complexity by allowing human intervention to become a managed step within your automated routines rather than an interruption.

Overcoming the automation dilemma

As your business grows across channels, operational complexity usually follows. Automation in PlentyONE unlocks your ability to scale the order volume further. However, traditional automation frequently hits a ceiling because "exceptions" still require manual handling. Flow Hub solves this by ensuring automation is no longer "all-or-nothing". Your processes can now pause exactly when human expertise is required, providing you with the required control at critical process steps.

Interactive elements within automated routines

Flow Hub unlocks a hybrid approach to automation. We are introducing interactive elements in Flow Studio, which allow you to define specific points where a process waits for user input—such as quality inspections during returns or entering shipment details—before resuming. This ensures that your team maintains operational oversight while the system handles the heavy lifting.

The interactive elements available already cover 90% of the 'actions' that were previously found in Processes. We are gradually expanding these to not only replace the Processes entirely in the long germ, but to build for further interesting use cases.

This rounds off the automation engine in PlentyONE, complementing Flow Studio, where you build your workflow logic, and Flow Tracker, where you monitor every run.

Total visibility and manual control on new user interfaces

With this release, the new Flow Hub user interface reaches your system under Automation » Flow Hub. Here, you will find three different views guiding you towards points of interaction with your workflows:

  • Overview: Here's where all company-wide workflows are consolidated in a single space.
  • Detail view: Track finished and in-progress flow runs for a specific automation and view those that require user interaction to continue.
  • Execution view: This is where you and your team interact directly with your flows, complete required actions on an interactive panel and resume the automation.

All of these user interfaces are customisable using our MyView technology, so you can arrange and configure them as according to your preferences.

Start building hybrid automations today

To take advantage of these new capabilities, navigate to Automation » Flow Studio and look for the "Interactive" category in the actions menu. You can drag and drop these elements into your existing logic to start building more flexible, system-led growth strategies. Then head over to Automation » Flow Hub to explore the new user interfaces.
