Faster Pages, Higher Conversions: Major Performance Upgrades for PlentyONE Shop
Every second of load time is a decision point for your shoppers. Pages that take too long to respond increase bounce rates, suppress conversions, and drag down search rankings. For shops running at scale, these aren't edge cases – they compound across every session, every day. Over the past months, we have made substantial investments in the performance architecture of PlentyONE Shop. This update delivers the results.
Cached pages served in under 100 milliseconds
The centrepiece of this initiative is the introduction of CloudFront-based template caching. Shop pages are now delivered from server locations closer to your customers, which cuts the time needed to render and serve them.
For shops running PlentyONE Shop version 2.32.0 or higher ↗️, cached pages are consistently delivered in under 100 milliseconds. For requests that are served directly from cache without any additional processing, response times drop below 50 milliseconds.
What this means for your shop
- Faster first impressions: Shoppers reach your products and content without waiting – reducing the risk of drop-off before they even begin browsing.
- 50% reduction in average Time to First Byte (TTFB): Through extensive caching, optimisation of long-running requests, and the migration of selected functionality to a faster architecture, average server response times across PlentyONE Shop have been cut by half.
- Stronger Core Web Vitals: Faster page delivery and lower TTFB contribute directly to improved PageSpeed Insights (PSI) scores – a key factor for search engine visibility.
- Lower bounce rates: When pages respond without delay, shoppers stay engaged, explore more products, and move through the purchase journey without interruption.
- A more resilient foundation: The performance improvements establish a scalable infrastructure that holds up during peak trading periods – not just on average days.
Active immediately – no setup required
For most shops, these improvements are already live. CloudFront caching activates automatically for shops running PlentyONE Shop version 2.32.0 or higher.

A small number of shops are still being migrated to CloudFront. Our infrastructure team is contacting affected shops directly and will support them through the remaining rollout.

⚠️ Important: action required for Git-integrated shops
-
For shops maintained through Git integrations, the CloudFront caching enhancements introduced with PlentyONE Shop version 2.32.0 ↗️ must be implemented manually.

Follow the steps in our Implementation Guide ↗️ to activate CloudFront caching for your Git-integrated shop.
What to expect going forward
These changes establish a faster, more reliable performance baseline for PlentyONE Shop. We continue to monitor response times across the platform and invest in further optimisations – so performance scales with your growth, not against it.
