Development Status and Recommendation for GPSR Conformity on Amazon
Amazon will also be subject to requirements for product information when the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) comes into effect on 13 December 2024.
Attributes for maintaining GPSR-relevant information
Currently, Amazon's category-specific flat files - special file formats used to upload and update product information - already contain the following attributes:
gpsr_safety_attestation: GPSR safety certification - Can the product be used without warning or safety information?
dsa_responsible_party_address: GPSR manufacturer email address
gpsr_manufacturer_email_address: Email address identifier of the responsible DSA office
Further attributes (compliance_media) for uploading mandatory documents are still being added. Amazon has not yet announced when a corresponding update will be made for this attribute.
Steps for providing the article information
The following procedure is planned to ensure compliance with the GPSR by the deadline:
Deactivation of the automatic article data export and provision of new file templates:As part of the flat file update, the automatic article data export to Amazon will be deactivated in your systems on 04/12/2024. We will then (05.12.2024) import new file templates. Stock and price updates are not affected by this.
User-controlled reactivation of the article data export:As soon as the GPSR-relevant attributes in your article data have been fully maintained, the automatic article data export can be reactivated independently.
Please note! If item information has already been maintained via Amazon Seller Central, we recommend switching to partial updates to avoid overwriting the data.
