Document Type Packing List Now Available in DocumentBuilder: Efficient Switch and New Shipping Widgets
The document type packing list is now available in DocumentBuilder. A default template, which corresponds in content to the old packing list, is also provided. This simplifies the transition, as no new configuration is necessary.
Seamless integration and centralized management
The packing list integrates seamlessly into the creation and handling of the other order documents. All of the following new functionalities are available to replace the old packing list:
- Easy Activation: The switch to the new, optimized logic for packing list creation is done via the menu: Setup » Documents » Settings. The menu item in the old Fulfillment UI is then removed. Switching back to the old logic is possible at any time.
- Creation in the Order UI: Packing lists can be created directly via their own group function in the Order UI.
- Centralized Management: The packing list is displayed as an independent document type in the document panel of the order detail view as well as in the document archive and can be deleted from both UIs. Caution when deleting: The packing list is removed from all contained orders.
- Automation: The new packing list behaves like the other asynchronous documents and can therefore continue to be used in processes. Outlook: Work is currently underway on an action for creating the packing list in PlentyONE Flow. As soon as this action is available, various actions can be combined in flows and used directly in the Order UI.
New widgets for the shipping process
With the functionality for multi-order documents like the packing list, a new widget is additionally provided in DocumentBuilder: the Shipping Widget. This allows shipping information for different shipping packages of an order to be conveniently and structuredly output on documents. Furthermore, the Barcode Widget has been extended so that custom barcodes can be created to match the package information, making the shipping process even more effective.
Note: This feature is now available in beta systems and will be available in Early on 25 February and in Stable on 4 March.
